Former Street Vendor – Tsholo Mmutle Tells Us How to Make it Count

Tsholo Mmutle Makes it count
Tsholo Petrus Mmutle has what it takes as he explains how he went from a fruit vendor to a PAV Rica Agent and how he was able to belong and become a great entrepreneur with PAV Telecoms. Tsholo is a 33-year-old PAV Operator who was born in the small town of Ventersdorp located in Northwest. He loves soccer and supports Kaizer Chiefs. Tsholo explains that because of his humbleness, Itumeleng Khune is his all-time favourite player.
Before being introduced to PAV Telecoms by a friend, Tsholo sold CDs and fruit at a taxi rank. He joined PAV Telecoms in 2018 where he was registered as an agent, educated and trained.
Shortly after joining PAV, Tsholo moved to Potchefstroom, where he had a plan to increase activations by running daily promotions in the town. Being such a busy town, Tsholo’s plan worked and his team was able to find success. He was promoted to supervisor at the PAV Place in Potchefstroom. His main responsibilities were to distribute PAV SIM cards and recruit and train new PAV Agents, which included educating and training them to be entrepreneurs in their field.

Tsholo explained that one of his PAV highlights was when he was chosen to shoot a video on how to use the PAV Connect app. He said that this made him feel special and appreciated by the company.
Tsholo knows that finding real customers in a busy area will make him succeed. When asked about how he was able to become a great PAV agent, Tsholo said:

“What made me great at activating was my system of giving out SIM cards to customers who really want the SIMs and to make sure that I target people on busy days when people have money. This is because, as we all know, these customers will recharge and activate the SIM cards”

Tsholo describes what motivates him as a PAV agent; by creating a daily to-do list, he stays on top of all his tasks for the day. Also, reaching out to his community by selling cell phones and airtime, dealing with different people and going out to make sure that he represents the brand.
Being hardworking and independent, Tsholo finds that managing his own business comes naturally. He often holds promotions, educates those around him and gives back to his community.
